Synopsis:
Shortly after witnesses observe Jerry Denson being removed from Steve Mancheck’s floating gambling establishment located three miles from shore, Jerry’s body is found in the ocean. When Vicky, Mancheck’s young business partner, is found stabbed to death, Mancheck becomes the prime suspect. Jerry’s sister, Carol, pleads with Margot and Lamont to help bring the murderer to justice. Lamont questions Mancheck and soon discovers an important clue leading to Rocky, Mancheck’s strong-arm, as the culprit. When Lamont’s body is found, Mancheck panics and visits Carol, pleading that they run away to South America or Mexico until the heat is off. It seems Carol and Steve Mancheck were secretly married two months before. Jerry and Carol used to be wealthy and while Jerry attempted to win back his losses on Mancheck’s boat, Carol had another idea — to murder Mancheck in self-defense, knowing the police would accept her story. The Shadow intervenes by knocking the gun out of Carol’s hand. The news of Lamont’s death was premature, and Carol, the guilty party, will now go to jail for hiring Rocky to do the dirty work and frame her husband.
