Synopsis:
The theft of a large herd of cattle on a western range has been compounded by the vicious killing of a cowhand. Lamont and Margot venture out of state to help solve the mystery at the request of David Fairfield who suspects the doings involve the growing black market in beef. When The Shadow attempts to question Lou Cory regarding the cattle rustling, suspecting the man is involved, the cowboy is discovered dead in the saddle. Working with Earl Hammond and the Cattlemen’s Association, Lamont plans to trap the rustlers, after figuring their method of operation, but the crooks learn about the trap and beat him to the punch. Using an airplane to spot the nine trucks used to ship the stolen cattle, Lamont and Margot discover Earl Hammond is the guilty party, protecting his interests by committing murders when his men started to cower. Thanks to The Shadow, Hammond is apprehended for the police arriving at the scene — ready to commence with western-style justice.
