Synopsis:
On the trail of a gang of juvenile delinquents, Lamont and Margot are trying to find the more experienced brain they feel must be behind the gang’s activities. Al Scarne, a big shot from the old days, recently escaped from the penitentiary and attempts to recruit young street vandals for building a criminal empire. The boys, however, prove to be inexperienced and angry so Scarne decides to start at the top and eliminate the city’s kingpin of crime to set an example. When the police and The Shadow race to a nightclub called The Oasis, the confrontation is almost fatal. Scarne discovers the juveniles murdered his right-hand man using the gun they lifted from him hours before. Planning to run off with the money they stole and held back, the boys plot to leave Scarne at the mercy of the police. It is a perfect frame that almost succeeds, until The Shadow steals the guns and holds them at bay long enough for the police to arrive. Facing the choice of surrendering to the police or combat gas shells, the criminals go the peaceful way as The Shadow laughs, “I thought you’d see it my way.”
