Synopsis:

Horton Van Dyke believes he can commit the perfect crime again and again, having gotten away with murdering his daughter’s fiancé for personal reasons. When Van Dyke’s daughter, Laura, pleads with Lamont to help prove her father is a murderer, the wealthy society member decides to challenge Lamont to a battle of wits using Margot as the bait.After Van Dyke kidnaps Margot, The Shadow finds and rescues her and then sets out to bring Van Dyke to justice. When the megalomaniac attempts to trap The Shadow in a room filled with poisonous, explosive gas, The Shadow overturns Van Dyke’s desk, pinning the murderer under it — away from the button that would set off the gas, and rescuing Laura moments before the room explodes, killing Van Dyke.
