Synopsis:

Following a theft and murder in Chinatown, Lamont’s investigation twice led him to Sin Fu’s herb shop where, on that second visit, he encountered the little ex-con Alfie Nemo and Sin Fu’s body. Immediately afterwards, however, both the corpse and Alfie disappeared. A skull in Sin Fu’s shop is compared to dental records to verify Johnny Lee’s murder. After following a trail leading to the waterfront, The Shadow solves the mystery. Sin Fu murdered Johnny Lee for the Chinese New Year money originally meant for the Community Chest. As a bone polisher who sends back the bones to China for reburial, he disposed of Johnny Lee so no one would suspect. Sin Fu fakes his death until Alfie attempts to steal the money and kill the Chinaman. The Shadow prevents the murder and reveals the truth behind the caper.
